Having tried caravanning (too bulky to store), tenting (bum too close to the floor) I have now become a TT'er (easier to tow and erect).
I have recently obtained a Coleman Dakota wind up outfit of 1983 vintage, like me its ancient but still going strong. At some point it lost its galley. At the moment I am using either the BBQ, a small portable gas burner and an electric kettle (yes, its got a hookup).
I am informed by the American manufacturers that parts are no longer available for this model but it would have had a two burner hob and small sink on a "swing over" galley. Anyone like to tell me just what a swing over galley is and any ideas where I can get one without taking out a second mortgage. It could also do with some replacement awning poles as the originals are getting a bit flexible at the corner bends, any help is welcome.  

Having had a few days away in the old lady, I am impressed with her and think it may be worth spending a few pennies on getting her up to spec. What do you hardened TT'ers think?

I have a 1998 conway clubman which also has a wind up roof. I am sure you will be able to modifiy it somehow as regarding a kitchen. My unit has gas burners and grill sink , fridge but is not fitted with an oven. Maybe you could get hold of  a kitchen by looking out for a scrapped outfit and somehow transfer it to your camper

If the kitchen would usually be resident inside the camper then I would hazard a guess that the 'swing over' galley would be similiar to what we have in our aztec. When we pack up we have to swing the top part of the kitchen (sink and hob) over onto the floor which makes it the same level as the cupboard and therefore enables the rest of the camper to be folded away.

The kitchen is like in two sections ....cupboards at the bottom, sink and hob in a separate housing unit sitting on top. They are joined together by a mechanism which includes a couple of steel rods and springs on either side. This enables you to swing the top unit towards you and down onto the floor with ease.

Hope that is a clear enough explanation.I know what I mean LOL!

Ours is 1989 (I think) or thereabouts. We have only had it since june but we love it!! I only wish our awning was bigger, its not the original awning that came with it - although it is totally weatherproof I could just do with about one metre more depth!!

What year is yours? and how long have you had it?

That's exactly what I would have thought, and it's the same as my Conway. Leave enough play for the gas pipe, and have a spongy rubber ring around the sink waste. Not a huge problem if you.re handy with some woodworking tools.

I would suggest using WBP plywood for the unit, reinforced with half inch square timber in all the corners. I only ever use whatever's handy.

unfortunately I cannot seem to see all of your post, its like it has gone off the page when I look at it!

However I think I have got the gist of your query. Tent Valeting Services seem to stock a large range of conway accessories, I have been looking at their website and I have noticed the challenger is mentioned.
