I have been a seasoned camper for many years and really enjoy the outdoors , however i am now buying a Trailer Tent and i would love some advice!
Do you level the TT on a sloping pitch with chocks???/
Can i put more baggage on top of the trailer for travelling??
Any essential advice for a novice would be very welcome!
Thank you
Gower looks good for a start!!

as said,if the ground isn't too much of a gradient,we dont use levellers.most tt's you cant put things on top,but you can put some light things on top of the tent, underneath the outer cover,we put our bodyboards on like this, but we have quite a bit of room in the centre of the outfit where we put things.you can buy a rack system for most trailers to fit a roof box on,but you have to store it when you get where you are going. advice, you dont have to buy new,we bought a new raclet, which was rubbish,we now have a conway canterbury that cost £350 which is fantastic.
Try to make sure you see the complete outfit erected, not just the main cabin, check for any rips in the canvas, make sure all poles are there, and not bent.Dont buy the first one you see, unless its in superb nick,as there are lots out there.
next just get out there and enjoy,

To a certain extent I second that advice.
If you buy second hand, you risk buying a tent which has been badly looked after, but you can avoid that with a little common sense.
If you buy new, you run the risk of getting a lemon, which ALL, yes ALL TT manufacturers make a certain proportion of. In that circumstance, the thing to do is of course to invoke your rights and demand a repair or replacement, as you are entitled to do.
Also, if you buy a cheap second hander and you like it, you can then go and choose your new one with your sensible head on, and choose one that has the features you like at the price you like, and make a full inspection to make sure you don't end up with a Friday afternoon job.

yes you are correct, the raclet was from Burcroft Camping(do NOT buy from them),had nothing but trouble with the tt,and the people. They were supposed to have pdi'd it,we were charged for it anyway. And that was a new one!!We did the impulse buy at the N.E.C. show,it looked fantastic in the lovely flat ground of the show, very few sites will be like that.
Also, there are different sizes, more the awning than the pod,if you have kids, you may want to get one with a 4 metre awning,as opposed to a 2.5 metre one if there is only 2 of you.
