we've been looking at the Trigano Olympe and really like the look of it so have searched on here for info on it but only found a few posts so we're wanting to know from the people who got one last year what they think of it, any pros/cons.  I'm wanting to go look at 1 but the weather is not helping at the minute lol.  Also I'd like to know what you carry in the trailer on the move?, do you carry bikes on the top?, is the sun canopy worth buying?  mmmmh can't think of anymore at the min lol

They do look nice. We don't have one, sorry cant help. But the main thing that crossed my mind was looking at the pictures, the access into the main beds is from the main awning and looks high to climb up into. Where when we had a Cabanon Neptune, and as most trailer tents you get into the main bedrooms from in the trailer part. hope this makes sence?

it looks like you would need a step to get upto the main bedrooms from within the awning

Maybe wrong but interested to see how owners get on

hi we looked at the triago and it was the height of the bedrooms that put us off getting one also the kitchen was very heavy to lift we ended up getting a camplet concord a lot more expensive but it suited our needs more lighter kitchen unit for a start and we can get in to bed without needing a step ladder but you must make up your own mind what suits your needs best

I looked at one as well.

My thoughts were:

You will need a small 2-step ladder if you are short.

It's HUUUUGE! Check dimensions on campsites

The awning would be big enough for us without a sun canopy.

The central seating area was a little small, and couldn't be packed with that much stuff.

It's very attractively priced, which if it doesn't have Camp-Let and CombiCamp worried, certainly should do.

We have an Odyssée, the smaller edition with roughly the same design, and it is certainly quite a way up. We ended up not using a step, though, because I am 6 foot, and the missus is 5'10" (actually we are both metric, but never mind that). And the kitchen does weigh a tonne.

I'd worry a little about pitch size and how much space would be left with an Olympe, which is mostly why we don't have one.

I don't think the beds will be too much of an issue as hubby is 6' and I am 5'9".  We also tend to use cs sites so don't think the size will be an issue but we do need a biggish space as we have 2 teenagers (maybe a 3rd) that will come with us and 2 labs.  I suppose I'll have to wait till I can get to Camperlands to have a look at one (hurry up snow and go lol)

We disregarded it on the width; we use the C&CC a lot and its too wide for them, and possibly others. That said a lot of dome type tents are wider, and they seem to manage. Last time I was at Camperlands they had the Olympe on display - it certainly is spacious, but realistically we don't need that extra width. The off floor seating might be nice, but we still wouldn't have a cabin only option. Presumably though you can fit 2 underbed tents, which might be a consideration.

We are in the process of switching from a Camplet Concorde to a Jamet Jametic, (very similar to the Odyssee) and our only concern is the weight of the kitchen. We've had a play and think it will be ok, but we are sacrificing the light kitchen for a zip in groundsheet (camping in the monsoon season!), an underbed tent and improved storage.

The height of the beds is ok because we are all tall, and the storage in the trailer looks much better than the Camplet, I would assume the Olympe would be similar.

We (well, when I say 'we' I mean 'I' ) are currently debating between the Camp-Let, Trigano and Jametic...  I really really really like the Odysee - like it in the green  but OH prefers the hard top trailer a-la Camp-Let, but the price is a major limiting factor and whilst I DO like the Camp-Let, I  can't get past the difference in price for something that is essentially the same as the Odysee and Jametic when it is put up on site. Also the kitchen seems more robust on the trigano than on the Camplet (which looks more like moulded plastic?)....  plus the zip-in groundsheet is a major plus point.....

Alison, as a Camp-Let owner, how do you find the kitchen on the CL if you don't mind me asking?  Does light = flimsy?  Also, you said that the storage on the Jametic looks better - is there not much capacity in the CL?  Sorry for all the questions - having real trouble deciding!!!

Thanks!!!

I'm 5'8" and find the kitchen a bit low! The leg on it seems a bit unsteady at times, but we haven't had any problems, and the fact that it simply swings out is a definite plus.

There is plenty of storage space in the Camplet, but you have to pack it just right, and you don't know if its right until you try to fold it up! I doubt we're the only Camplet owners who have had to forage around in a half closed trailer trying to even out the equipment so it fastens. By some miracle we've always managed to pack up in the dry, but I dread having to do it in the rain. The Jametic has a slatted bed on top of the trailer which you lift up to access the storage space, so (I hope!) it will be easier to pack.

We also favoured the hard top trailer because we store it outdoors, but they tell me the soft top will be fine outside with a cover. The main thing though is the zip in groundsheet. One of our reasons for getting a TT was to make early and late camping more comfortable, but autumn and spring in North Wales/Lake District means monsoons, and although the canvas is fantastic, water coming under it is a real problem, especially since we added the bedroom annex.

I think they are all good TT's, I certainly wouldn't complain about the Camplet, but you have to think very carefully about your individual needs. Happy shopping!

If you want a hard-top without the price of a Camp-Let, have you considered the Raclet Allegra? It's genuinely pegless (unlike the Camp-Let), although it is a bit smaller until you erect the awning (which is included in the price).

but still plenty of allegras available from new, as they only discontinued them 4 months ago.

they have been replaced by the moovea, which is cheaper and bigger but not pegless or hardtopped.

I don't know if anyone has seen this,  but I found an online guide to erecting the Olympe.....

http://www.vouwwagenspecialist.nl/diversepdfs/Instructions%20Olympe.pdf

I'm quite tempted myself, but I think we ought to try our Dandy out first before I buy anything else!
