I am just upgrading from a TT to a Folding camper. Although it is a used camper it is still costing a fair amount of reddies. Does anybody know if it is possible to arrange insurance for it? If so then who would be the best to go with and approx how much would it cost? At the moment it will be stored on a drive but, I am hoping to garage it soon (if it fits of course!).
I hope that this topic hasn't already been covered elsewhere if it has then I do apologise.
Like Jan P ours is through the Camping and Caravanning club, you get a discount if you join the club and theirs worked out to be the best quote for us - I rang 4 or 5 different companies in all.
We have just insured our Pennine Sterling with MCIA. They gave the cheapest even compared to the C & C Club with their discount. 08703661245 is the number.
Good luck getting it into the garage. I'm still trying but I also have to sell a trailer tent first.
I was quoted roughly around £100 by the C&C club, I don't know if this is about right or not. I will try MCIA thanks Lobbers tomorrow.
I will have to get the measurements of the garage as it is the Father in laws who lives 40 miles away, but if it does fit it will be ideal for winter storage. We are itching to try out our new investment before the end of the year , perhaps we will be able to journey out next weekend. Then we can park it up for the winter.
My TT is in a neighbours garage ,unfortunately she has a workbench in the back of it so theres no way the Pathfinder will fit.
Hi we've just bought a Randger 575 DL and, the the C&C Club, were quoted £180 ish for the unit, awning and personal belongings etc. We were also able to spread the payments by DD but there was a charge for that.
Hi caz, it's a pleasure to be here and pick lots of useful tips etc.Your cover is quite a bit cheaper than what I was quoted, perhaps Chatham is a high risk area :-(
we have been paying 165-00 a year through the camping and caravan club new for old policy some of you seem to be paying a lot less i would hate to think anybody is underinsured ours covers all equiptment as well
I have now had quotes from all the of the companies that have been mentioned. The quotes range from £100 - £123, this isn't for the new for old cover that Terry has. The Pathfinder that we are purchasing is 6 yrs old which I believe was the first year for this model. With this in mind I think the new for old cover would probably be higher than Terry's, although it still might be worth me getting a quote.
I am not a member of any club so I haven't had any club discount added, has anyone any preference over which club offers the most value membership ,and also what discount that you would be offered on your insurance?
No I didnt hear any more about my stolen tt. The police told me they had inspected local cctv but nothing showed on them.
Sorry I didnt get to meet you when you popped into sandy balls at the weekend. It was only when you were going I found out it was you. Never mind, another time.
