Usually you can be a tent. Some sites have poor access to some of the pitches so won't let caravans & motorhomes on. You may still be able to get in easily. Some sites are not level, this can cause you some problems with levelling depending on how your beds are levelled. Other sites have a ban on tents due to hard standing pitches - sometimes gravel, concrete or tarmac. You can't put pegs in those. It depends on the site. A phone call or email when booking will sort things out. Make sure you know the size of the footpring of the tent - including the guy lines. You will often be asked for this.
When there has been no TT option i normally call and then the booking comes back as a tent, we have been on a gravel hard standing once with grass for awning and that was also ok I would go for sites with level pitches though!

hi Redkite... congrats on the Camplet. We had one for a few years and loved it. I was amazed how much we got for it on ebay last year when we decided to buy a caravan, so it's a sound investment too. We always booked it in as a tent, which is the cheaper option, and never had a problem at all.
Level pitches are always a bonus, but they are easy to level up anyway if you take 2 of those yellow wegde thingies for the wheels.
Have fun; you'll love it! We miss out Camplet though :-(
We're the opposite - sold a caravan and brought a camp-let! picked it up couple of weeks ago, can't wait to use it now, hopefully easter.
Haven't had a go at putting it up apart from the hand over at camperlands, only had the kitchen open to fill with our stuff, first time will probably be the worst as need to fit all the curtains etc.
Think I'm going to book a hardstanding for easter if I can, don't want any mud!
