hello everyone when we bought our caravan the awning was included in the sale, i have just had it out to have a good look (isabella) i thinks its a few years old as is our van but its still in good condition the only thing is there are no curtains with it, i am quite happy to make some or buy from ebay etc but i dont know which to buy as some for sale say have clips or fit poles, i know it wont be pole as there is a strip (stiff rubber maybe) attached to the awning i dont know if the curtains will need clips or the same sort of track as what is on the awning i cant take a trip to our local caravan dealer for weeks due to work commitments any one any ideas thanks in advance.
You probably need clips, which will go on to the track. If you do a Google search for "Isabella awnings curtains" you will turn up retailers who stock them.
You can also buy the clips and make your own curtains. I bought clips from NR Awnings. The peeps who had the van before us had made new curtains but they were far to heavy so rather than remove the clips I purchased new.
------------- Don't know where I'm going but will be happy when I get there.
Hi,seams ive got the same problem.Ive improvised with some spare curtains, but how on earth does one put the clips on.Do i stitch them on by hand or would it be poss to use my sowing machine [without breaking the needle].I am a bit of a green horn at this kind of thing,so please bear with me......Any ideas??
Hya hope its not too late with this thread but I have the same problem what I want to know is do you need to put some curtain tape on and if so what type
Hi
its been a while since my last post on here. That said i was delighted to get an email!! We upgraded our caravan to a slightly bigger van, same outfit [1991 modal] Kept the curtains from the old one.I did try to fix my curtain problem.[nightmare!..in the end i just bought some curtain rings[medium sized] and stitched them on by hand. Bought some fine wooden canes and slipped them on.I placed rubber bands at each end of the poles to prevent them slipping off. Sounds crazy but it works! Sorry i could not be more helpful. I wish you lots of luck with your curtains. Please feel free to email me with any other questions. I will shortly be updating a photo of the new [second hand] beautiful caravan!
kind regards
Joanne
Thank you very much for responding so quickly. This has as you said been a bit of a nightmare. I am doing this for my daughter I thought making replacement curtains would be simple. I have made the curtains and have ordered some of the hook sets hopefully when they arrive I will be able to work things out. I will think twice before volunteering in future but I can't believe that something so simple has turned out to be so difficult. Thanks again
Hi...your very welcome. The hook Sets sound good. Things have moved on in the past 7 years...i will definitely invest in some of them next time. Good luck with your real labour of love...the things we do for our kids eh! LOL!
kind regards
Joanne
