Which is the better of these 2 ? Never had a trailer tent before, thinking of getting one for this season . There are these 2 on offer locally . Trigano chantilly, doesnt state the age in the ad , the conway mirage says 2001 , both for sale around the 750 -800 mark .
I'd appreciate thoughts of those in the know before I start going out to view any please
not much difference between the 2 but both quite hard to put up try ebay compare prices and look at all the pics there are some good buys out there at the moment
do not wish to argue but my chantilly is not hard to put up at all the main bed area takes no more than 5 mins once level then the poles for main awning less than 10 mins(now i've sorted them).the awning itself about 10 to 15mins then it's just pegging and linnings another 30mins ok not fast but not hard.I can do this myself but better with two. Also if away for short a time will just use main bed area plus day tent which go's up in under 10 mins.
Speaking only of the Mirage (which is a bog standard design Conway, same as my Camargue), it's not difficult to put up once you've done it a few times. After that you'll get faster with practice but you're still looking at a good hour from taking the cover off to last peg, more if you put up all the inner liners in the awning. That's with two fit adults who know what they're doing, and two mallets.
I have no experience of any Trigano Trailer tents so don't know if they are more difficult to put up than the Conway, most of them are fairly easy once you've practised a few times. I do know that particular Chantilly was on ebay a week or so ago because I recognise the pictures. It's on completed listings here - it was started off at £800 but had no bids - that doesn't mean it's not worth that now - I think it looks a very nice tent. The Chantilly also has a kitchen extension bit which does mean a few more poles to think about, but it gives you quite a bit more floor space. The other thing it has got is that side door that the Conway hasn't. I think that's really useful.
I do know that most Conway Trailer Tents are fairly easy to put up once you have done it a few times - our camping buddies have a Conway TT and are always set up before us but that's because we're rubbish. The Conway one looks nice too - it may just come down to colour. I would say that you would probably get a better price on the Conway if you came to re-sell.
Of these two - I would go for the Trigano because I like the colour and the style but that's just my opinion.
