Hello all, I am new to the site and will soon be new to "camping".
We have just sold our static caravan and when the dosh comes through will be looking for a trailer tent.
Any help or suggestions on what to look out for would be greatly appreciated. we are on a limited budget of about £2000.
Another quick question, what sort of storage do trailer tents have? will I need to stuff the car and roof box to get all our gear in or will most of it fit in the trailer? (we have 2 kids)
If your anything like half of us on here, you will end up swapping a few times anyway, till you find some thing to suit your needs - gotta try everything! Thats my motto!
....Most of them are capable of holding all your gear.
Until you discover the "must have" piece of equipment and the need to coordinate everything. You then read on here of yet another piece of equipment and that is acquire.
Suddenly you are looking for a larger trailer or car or both.

We went for a Cabanon trailer tent and have always thought it was a good choice. My mum calls it the portable bungalow!!!! It happily fits 2 adults 3 children and 2 dogs plus if it rains we usually end up with half the campsite children in watching a DVD!!
We have spotted a Raclet Marathon and are going to see it at the weekend, its about 3 years old and has only been used half a dozen times (according to the owner) its up for £800
Is there any way of telling the age? like a car vin plate or similar?
From what I can find out its rated as a pretty good one to buy, has anybody had or still got one of these? and are there any points to look out for before I buy?
I have already started making a mental list of all the things I just have to have

Hohoho.....not in my experience. I've got a big trailer well with side boxes in my conway ie more storage than most and I still end up with the boot of the car full of kit. And I'm well known on here for being a bit of a minimalist, lol.
