Hi,
We have used our 2004 pennine pathfinder for the first time this Easter and have been having a bit of trouble with the sink overflowing and leaking down to the bathroom floor. I think it is because too much water is going down when you unplug the plug. This can be remedied if we remember to unplug slowly. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and if there is an alternative solution?

Yes it is a common problem, i have the same on mine a 2003 pathfinder!
Like you say you have to remember to slowly let the water out or you get flooded.
I do believe Pennine have solved the problem by fitting a washer to the plug hole,so restricting the water flow without holding the plug over the hole lol. I'm going to look at doing the same next time out!

Hi There

We have a 2004 pathfinder and we solved the problem by fitting a penny washer into the plughole, this then restricts the water flow.

We had the same problem last year with our 2002 pathfinder, we had two major floods, its amazing where the water seeps to, luckily the worst was packaging under the seats.

Anyway, we decided to change the water outlet, part of the problem is the angle the trap under bottom the sink is, we replaced it with one going straight down, we also changed the outlet pipe to a wider one. We have just been away for 4 days and had no problems. Much relieved. It only took about an hour to fix and the cost was minimal.

If you want any pics I will try get some when we set it up again next weekend.

We had the same issue on out 2008 Pathfinder, we purchased one of those little sink strainers that sit in the plug hole from the pound shop and that limits the speed water goes down and stops the overflow.

I remember ours used to blow our pitch electrics every time as well as the power for the water pump is just where ours used to leak to.

Cheapest way would be to drop a 1p in the plug hole, anything really that slows the water down.

Same problem for us with our 2007 p/finder. I wish Pennine would sort this problem - it's such a design fault. Need I say if a woman had designed the washing up system - it would work faultlessly Ok I won't!
