I would appreciate some feedback from those who have bought the extension or awning for the Outwell Montant 6.
We would like a bit more room for cooking etc, as the kids take most of the living room space up and I can't decide on whether to buy the extension (seen at ~£120) or the awning (seen at ~£199).
The awning looks quite good but is it worth an extra £80?
I have just bought the front extension. Basically just wanted somewhere to put kitchen for cooking , hanging wet coats and dirty shoes and somewhere for the dog to sit when he is tied up in the shade (yes I am hoping for sunshine!). £129.99 I paid and am looking forward to christening it at Whitsun.
------------- Smoke me a kipper ............ I'll be back for breakfast!!!!!
I am sitting in an outwell extension at the moment and can't say we needed the extra enclosure of an awning, but it has been great weather. we did bring a windbreak for the front of the extension if the weather had been bad.
saying all that, if you can convert the awning into an extension by removing the front panel then i'd spend the extra £80,
I was just wondering how much the extension overlaps the front of the tent by?
Does it hook on to the first frame? I'm trying to gestimate what the overall length of the tent will be; the montana is 585 x 415 and the extension is 260 x 415 so is the overall length ~7.6m?
Well, I've bought the awning and now I'm sitting here like a big kid waiting for it to arrive. Eventually got it from world of tents and found a 5% discount code on the web so ended up paying £189 (free p&p)
I'll report back after Half-Term as I'll be trialling it for the week when we go to Welshpool.
jusat thought I would provide an update - although its pretty late.
Well we went away to Welshpool at wit week, first time with the awning. Well with a couple of heavy rainy days at the beginning of the I can quite honestly say the the awning was worth the £189 we paid for it. Couldn't believe just how much extra usable space it gave us.
Would certainly recommend it, and its very easy to put up!
