why don t some sites not accept trailer tents on them . i have just bought a trailer tent my friend as a caravan and 2 places we have looked at going to do not allow trailer tents why is this
We are a lower life form. Not as posh as caravanners or earthy as real campers. Some sites have planning issues and can only accept certain units, and some sites have arsey owners.Try booking as a folding camper, might work, but personally I would take my business elswhere.

I've never had any problem with my TT being a tent. However some caravan-only sites won't take either TTs or FCs because 1) their pitches are all hard standings and 2) They only take caravans and no other type of unit. Some won't even take motorhomes.
It all depends on site, we have been accepted on some no tent sites, Caravan club say TT Accepted, some sites have wildlife issues (Wild Boar etc) so they say no tents including TT

Cosgrove Leisure Park near Milton Keynes won't take TTs or folding campers. I have a Crusader and when we visited, some of the tourers there had kitchen units in the awning. They had been there for years and some units looked positively ancient. To refuse a FC is a joke!
It is often because the site has tarmac or concrete pitches for caravans or motorhomes, so you can't put pegs in. FCs don't need pegging (awning excepted) so can usually go to these. Some sites don't like large tents because of damage to the grass. Many caravan sites will only allow breathable (useless) groundsheets in awnings to avoid killing grass off. Poor acces on some sites can be a problem as well as uneven ground. I understand the Caravan Club will have you as long as the camper has wheels! Never encountered any snobbery. If they can take your money, they will!
