Hi,
I would like to buy a Dandy trailer tent for my daughter and grandson. We have had a few Dandys over the years (I wish we had kept one !)I have looked on ebay and the free adverts on this web site. Have you any other ideas where to look? ps. I don't have pots of money to spend, Pam
Hi I have done it.Spent more than we were going to but it is in lovely condition and has been looked after. We forgot the loo and table so will have to go and pick them up! good job its not to far from us.Daughter is very pleased with her Christmas/Birthday presents for the next few years.Noah our grandson (3years old)is very excited and would like a BEN TEN or Spiderman sleeping bag!The Dandy is a late 80's 5 berth double skinned with extras awning, loo+tent, hook-up lead internal battery/mains lighting. It is at my mums we will try and get it in the garage .Thankyou for your help Pam Ps Louisa (the daughter)will have to be a member here herself now.
Hi again. We put the Dandy up at my mum’s. I had left the instructions at home! So we did it from memory well we (husband and I) did not fall out and daughters boyfriend was impressed by the Dandy. He had no idea what they looked like and how easy they are to put up. We also had mum’s next door neighbours in so it was a full house. They then wanted to sleep in it, so as it was Saturday teatime we rang a local cl and booked a night. She was very nice and let us put the awning up and down .We left them to have some tea and came back with sleeping bags. Well to see my grandson’s face when we came back made my week; he was so excited. Well to cut out more rambling it was a great success and they hope to go to another local site this weekend. We would like to fit gas struts (husband will do it if we find out how). PAM
I fitted gas struts on mine using home struts off 2 Rover 25 tailgates & home made brackets. I posted full instructions in the files section on the Yahoo group above. Riva leisure will do it for £380, or else a guy on eBay advertises it for £200. Good luck.
I had gas struts put on mine at the weekend from the guy on ebay- fantastic! really makes a difference. I can reccomend the ebay guy (Richard), very nice chap.
------------- "Is it supposed to make that noise?"
