Well, This was the dilemma. Wanted a camper, proven canvas or the all new acrylic. Many many views on all this. So as this a site for all to share their view. Here goes!

I purchased a 2009 Conway Crusader in Nov 09. Worried sick over Xmas and new year about damp issues as stored outside.
My Verdict, All fine, no issues, bone dry.

First outing 4 nights.
Worried about condensation. No issues at all, Acrylic so far was so good.

Packing away. After a nights rain, few shakes, sides were dry. Mop up a few spots of water on the roof part when folding down.

You can really pack away in 15 minutes, and I'm a camping newbie.

Oh the family:- 2 Adults, 2 Children (3 & 6)

So my verdict: Go Acrylic, no condensation issues, get electric hookup. Heater in use overnight (it was Easter!)

Have fun, we did!

Yes would be nice to go acrylic....but a bit of a price hike from my 1999 Crusader!!...Anyway it's not so much hassle if it's wet when packing up. Just put it up at home on a dry sunny afternoon and Hey Presto...dry again. Never had a problem in this area...and just a wee bit cheaper than a 2009 model!

I would be very interested to know how it fares in wind now they have taken out the stretcher bar.

To be fair, there should be absolutely no issues with acrylic canvas, especially in a Crusader which is clearly never going to be badly ventilated.

The only objection I had to the acrylic Crusader was the way that they used a cheaper material and then charged £1000 more!

But I'm glad you like it. It certainly looks like a right palace!
