Just had our first go at putting up the Jasmin in my Mum's garden, bloody hard work!
I know we will get better with some practice but still a bit worried how we will manage. We are not total TT novices as we have had many great hols in our old Conway Contiki.
Has anybody got any comments on the Raclet Armaclic system? I know this was an option to buy from new but I'm wondering if it could be added to our second hand Jasmin? Cost?
Don't get me wrong the Jasmin is a fantastic TT but the steel frame is very heavy and for the first part of our holiday in France it is just going to be me my Mum and the kids to put it up before my wife flys out to join us in Perpignan, ash cloud permitting!
Possibly. The armaclic system is still made, but now only for the Trigano Spaceo, which is the cabin from a Jasmin with a slightly different awning on the front (actually it's smaller).
You could certainly buy the armaclic frame for that, although you would need a certain amount of careful measuring. Failing that, you could buy a whole Spaceo awning and poles, although that would be thousands.
Finally, I suggest you give Adrian Prior a call at the Codicote Camping show here - he's the Raclet UK boss, and he might be able to help, especially if he has one spare in his warehouse. Be prepared to persist though - he's proper difficult to pin down, and he's also trying to run a major camping event!
I followed your link, left a message at the Codicote show for Adrian and sent an email as well just to be on the safe side, I've not had a reply as yet though!
After trying for over a month to get a response from Raclet UK despite several emails calls and actually talking directly to Adrian nobody could be bothered to call me back!
I contacted a camping shop in France and got a very helpful quick response from them. Unfortunately the Armaclic frame would have to be made by Raclet and it would cost nearly £1100 and not be ready until October or November! I only paid £1500 for the whole second hand Jasmin so I respectfully declined the offer.
Looks like I will have to put Mum on a weight training course to build her muscles up!

Doesn't bode well if anyone is thinking of dealing with/buying a Raclet.
Another case of terrible UK customer service.
We have been very impressed with the photo's Raclet Charlie posted of the new Raclet Armada, but as we live Yorkshire not sure where we could see one,or even buy one.

Well, in fairness do bear in mind that Raclet UK are a trade supplier, and as such have no infrastructure set up to deal with the general public. Granted, Adrian doesn't help himself by selling to the general public anyway, but compare that to the extent to which Sunncamp will help (i.e. they won't; they refer you to a dealer) or Trigano (they have no UK importer; you have to go through Camperlands), and Raclet isn't so very different.
For consumer items you might have more luck going to a dealer who is set up to help with enquiries, such as OBI camping or Burcroft or Norwich Camping etc.
For reference, the Raclet Armadas are a special which are not generally available as yet, however the awning and general form is the same as a Trigano Galleon (but not the price tag).
