  I have just bought a Rapido folding caravan 1980 it is not a matic so I might have a problem puting it up myself  is there any way I can add "matic" or something to aid puting it up.

Hi & welcome to UKCS I don't think you can add the matic assister's to them I wouldn't know where to start anyhow. If it's the Confort you may be able to do it by yourself any other model you might be struggling. There's a guy on youtube here Also there's instructions here if that's any help. There's plenty of threads on here with hints & tips on how to set them up.

I don't have the matic version either and I tie a length of rope between the two roof rack bars on the opening side (opposite the foot lever), long enough to reach while you are using the lever, and that gives enough added leverage to get it up and over. I can do it on my own this way quite easily.
