Morning,

Nearly ready for our first trip!! But before I we go I just wanted to check to see if anyone can shed any light on how the flame should look on our little 2 burner gas hob? Ive heard that if the flame is slightly yellow it may potentially be leaking? is this true does anyone know?  Will obviously get it checked professionally  but there is such a weath of knowledge and experience on this forum I dont want to waste my money if this is normal.

if there is yellow in flame it is not burning correctly may need a good clean jets could be blocked or damaged.

Yellow flame usually means incomplete combustion and production of potentially lethal Carbon Monoxide.

It is quite common on initial lighting but should settle down to a two-tone blue flame within a few seconds.

Blue, once it settles down. Make sure you've got all your cooking ventilation open btw, if only to cut down on the condensation.

Also I'd get a CO2 detector, given the enclosed situation. Cheap and a worthwhile safety precaution.

You should have a two coloured blue flame, You haven't said which FC you are in, but it is worth while getting the FC checked out by a registered gas fitter as there are lots of gas pipes and connections ;-  fridges, outside ports and hobs. that could have been knocked or cut. Be on the safe side, it will not cost you very much and it is peace of mind after all, priceless !
