Could anyone please clarify what the difference is ?

We purchased a rapido export/exportmatic we are not sure which we thought it was a trailer tent as the person we bought it from hadnt opened it up as it was left to them by someone who passed away.

What a surprise we got when we took it to the campsite at the weekend !!!!!

GOOD SURPRISE though we love it and so did everyone else who walked past and admired it

Also does anyone know how we would find out how old this is ?

Hi & welcome to UKCS

The Export-Matic has the assister's that help open it up. You can see those as metal hoops coming through the floor. Whereas the Export doesn't apart from that there's no real difference. I love ours easy to tow & light. The only real issue I have with it is that you need 2 to set it up. I love the space they have too & with the awning up it's easily doubled the living area. I must admit you do get some looks when you set it up. The guy I was next door to couldn't believe it when I folded it up he was gobsmacked.

The age of mine is stamped on the plate on the A Frame although I had a Record-Matic which didn't have the year stamped on it, so maybe its part of the chassis number on the Matic models? Someone might be along to clarify this.

Well just had a look on the A frame and its a 1980 model - goodness me it is absolutely brilliant condition no damp and the original awning has no tears or rips - what a good find we have here

Yup you definitely have a bargain I paid £300 for mine with no awning although I have one for it now (see gallery) It sounds like you have the Export the same as mine as it's a 1980 model. I have since fitted a gas floor heater & made a few other modifications to it since I've owned it. Still keeps me busy too.

You definitely had a bargain.

You'll never be alone on a campsite when you set up a Folding Wooden Tent!  Congratulations.
