I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 2007 Cabanon Venus complete with sun awning and the tall annex but when we put the annex up for the first time since buying the unit the other weekend no matter how hard me and the missus looked we still ended up with some spare poles. Very confusing and nearly caused a row.

The ones that we had left are both cranked and one has a spring clip that seems to clip around another pole while the other just has a curved piece of flat bar welded to the end to hook over a tube somewhere. There was also a straight pole left over that can be adjusted in length.

Although everything seemed to be correct and even with a massive downpour there were no leaks it still baffles me as to what these extra poles are for.

They sound like wardrobe bars, clip on to the awning rail, down to the floor, and adjust.Clothes hangers on the sticky out bit! A piccy would help if possible. Are they definitely part of the annex?

Hi and welcome to the forum

We have same TT as you, the poles you describe sound like the centre one for the annexe.

The cranked one with the clip goes onto your awning pole centre of the annexe, the pole with the extending bit fits to the centre of the annexe frame and to the one with the clip, so you have a pole going from the awning to the frame of annexe creating a ridge in the centre of the roof in the annexe.

I hope that you can make sense of that,
Regards macaw

I think I might need to take some pictures for the offending parts next time I put the thing up and see if you can point me in the right direction. Everything seemed fine without the annex having a ridge pole in place.

I do understand what you are saying Macaw but I just don't see how the poles I have will do the job.

Watch this space, I will be back.
