I too use an airbed under the mattress,
£10 from tesco. And as its under the foam mattress there is no need to insulate,but as the airbed isn't breathable you will need to prop the bed up in a morning to air it.
We recentl did 14 nights in cornwall and this worked great for us. Goodluck with whatever you decide.
