Do every thing slowly, watch the very back end of the trailer for the slightest movement the wrong way its a lot easier to keep making small adjustments than a major one.
and as people have said there is no shame in pulling forward to get you back on the right track.

I've been towing and (occasionally) reversing trailers for some years, but when I got the big Pathfinder went on the Caravan Club manouvering course - I think it was well worth while, if only from a confidence point of view.

I agree with Mike take your time it's not a reversing race use your mirrors and remember to put trailer left put the car right i used to tell people to tie broom handles to the back of the trailer so you can see where it is and it's easier to back up a long trailer than a short one

Take it slowly and watch for the back of the car catching on the camper. The pathfinder has a support for the front bed which gets very close to the car bumper if you turn too sharp. It is easier to reverse a large trailer than a small one. I can put the pathfinder where I want it but I unhitch my 6 ft dump trailer to turn it round.
