Hello we have just bought a Pennine Pullman and I want to know if the parks class this fc as caravan/motorhome as booking purposes or as a tent? I rang a caravan park, and they had not heard of a folding camper and when I said it is like a trailer tent she stated that they don't accept tents anymore. Your help would be much appreciated
as caster said they sound a bit thick i personally never had any problems i always say a folding camper without any pegging and i am a member of the caravan club and i never say its a trailer tent even if i had one as TO ME trailer tent is still folding camper whatever the experts say
we have had similar problems when trying to book hard standing pitches as they couldn't understand why a 'trailer tent' would be able to pitch on hard standing. All depends on what sort of pitch you want and what sort of site it is.
It sometimes depends on the type of pitch, sometimesa the site owners are snobs. Some places have concrete, tarmac or block paving as a surface. Apart from your awning (which would be on grass anyway) you would be fine on a hard pitch. Trailer tents & anything else needing pegs would not be allowed. Some places are just plain prejudiced against anything that isn't made from metal. In either event you are a folding caravan. If you get the opposite - some sites don't allow caravans or motorhomes, you are a trailer tent. You can't loose!
We are off to Weymouth this weekend and the site we are going to don't accept caravans, they accept TT's, motorhomes and tents. I've told them our FC is a TT, hopefully not going to be a problem! Selina
C&CC told us to book as either caravan or TT. I usually book as Caravan with awning as they are pretty much the same size. I've just booked a site for a few days non C&CC and said it was an FC and he seemed to be quite knowledgeable and knew exactly what it is.
I've rang a few sites that don't take tents to enquire and they seem to except FC's.
