Hi all, has anyone got a top tip for fitting some kind of netting to their FC's canvas part of the door so that whilst the bottom half can be closed, the top can be left unzipped for cooling but mozzy etc free at the same time?

Cheers

CC

WE have a velcro strip around the canvas doorway and the matching part on an overlapping mosquito net. Works very well

Mozzie netting?  The Dandy window has it fastened with Velcro tape so it pulls off.  Could you do the same?

Steve.

The Fiesta door doesn't have a window Steve, its just canvas on the top half (more like tow thirds really) and the bottom bit is the metal door.  I'd been thnking along the lines of this though and what Stuart had said earlier but wondered how durable velcro would be.  I'll give it a try and see how we get on.

Cheers lads

We have a piece of curtain wire hung between the upright poles of the main unit on the outside of the canvas, hooked through the holes in the canvas where the awning poles connect, with a cheap net curtain hung on this.

Yes, I know that, but the idea is the same.  A bigger piece of netting with Velcro all around it.  It is pretty durable stuff, especially if you get the heavy duty.

Steve.

I've decided to give this a try and see how we get on.  It only has to last for a few weeks in the south of France and at this price, if by then its only fit for the bin, well so be it.  Thanks again guys for the replies, much appreciated.

I modernised my fiesta door last year. I had zip trouble two years on the trot.OK it was the way I rigged it up, but I honest don't think that zips were designed to go around corners. I had the door cut out, and put 2 straight heavy duty zips (The same type as the awning zip) fitted. with velcro at the top and on both sides of the cabin door ,and the normal velcro at the bottom. The door is completely removable and a home made fly screen is fitted instead. As it was so warm the other night we left the fly screen up all night.Worked a treat
