Hello guys, hope you are all well. Hubby and I picked up our folding caravan yesterday and had demo etc. Practiced putting it up on our own today with no hitches except how do you zip out the side panel by the door so that the side is fully open? I would appreciate any pictures that people have of their camper fully up with skirts as well!!!
Thank you for reply. 2009 model 4 zips but does not appear to unzip completely as there are guards on the ends of both sides of the zip. TBH I dont think we tried to roll it up not sure if that will work but will def try it thankyou again
It will be an excellent investment, and with the Isabella fabric you won't have the potential mould problems us canvas heads have. Only thing I don't like about them is that they ditched the slide out bed system in favour of the Pennine fold out beds, which was a retrograde step. But having looked at pics of it, it looks great. One day!!!
You will have unzipped it from the wrong side - take both of the zips all the way over right to the floor on the other side and then take the top one back over all the way again and you should find that your panel comes out completely. I have done this many times
You can also fiddle about with the zips to leave the tops of the panels open to allow for air flow - I have often gone out and left the top corners open about a foot or so on a sunny day.
Thank you Ange, there are actually 4 zips!! and does not go to the floor!!! do I stand inside or outside??? all these questions I am sorry for being dim
thank you for your help

You are not alone in this. I tried and got confused by all the zips and gave up! It was the same with the side panels on the awning, though we did manage to remove the front ones.
as you would for opening the door but just take the zip all the way across the top and then down the side to the outside of the unit and panel should drop down, then just unhook the velcro.
Not sure why 4 zips but the neds of both sides of the zips have a kind of ledge on them which seems to stop the zip coming off completely!!! Mmmm. I think we will have to just play around and see what we can do.
Cheers guys

No its like an anorak. There are four zippers. Start with one at each end and two in the middle then take one middle one each way. When there are two together at the end they will miraclulously let you out !
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
These are open-ended zips which need 2 tabs to be together, [The same as an anorak]. so as to be able to slide both of the tabs from the fastened side. If you take 2 tabs opposing ways, so that you end up with 2 tabs at the lower ends at each side. They will be able to slide off the end of the zip. and remove the panel.
I have te same. Its bliss when th side panel is out. Jan is right. There are 2x2 way zips! The idea being that you can have the door half open,or totally open and also you can take the whole side out! One tip that we found though is to make sure that the remaining caravan half of the door is closed when trying to zip this panel in and out, Best wishes Jean
