Hi there and welcome along. We keep ours in the back garden and for about the first 7 months that we had it we only had the transit cover on it. But you do get a lot of black streaks down the body work. The answer was to get a winter cover for it, result no more black streaks. We use the cover all year round now and it keeps it nice and clean. Well worth the investment.

ebay have them or you can buy them from pennine, not cheap but cheaper than moving house.   If you do eventually end up moving to a house with a garage make sure that it is a standard sized garage that does fit a car.  Ours does fit into our garage just!    but new houses are often built with garages that are really only for storage/workshop and will never fit a car or pathfinder.

There are various recommendations on threads on here on using outdoor covers and I think you need to rig up something under the cover to ensure that water runs down off the cover rather than pools on top, but you can do this with empty milk cartons or other home made devises.

Seems like all the sellers of winter covers don't have them in stock until September.

As for putting things under your cover to make the water run off-a lot of folks do this-all you really need to do is wind up the jockey so that the camper is tilted back and the water just runs off. No pooling

There are a couple of Pathfinders being advertised for sale on the Pennine Owners Club website at the moment if you aren't just looking for a winter cover that is...

Put a couple of cheap footballs or a piece of timber under the winter cover so that the water drains off the sides. Then leave it either nose up or nose down so water drains off the front or back.

Hi Bellalola,

I bought my Pathfinder this summer, and, although I keep it in an undercover storage facility, I also use a winter storage cover all the time, to keep the dirt and damp off the transit cover.
The winter cover covers the whole of the camper's bodywork, so it stays nice and clean.
I bought mine from Highbridge Caravens in Somerset; they may be able to send you one? Check their website.

Hope this is helpful

Our Pathfinder is kept outside with a heavy duty plastic sheet over the Pennine winter cover, It cost a few pounds from a car boot, And was worth every penny, Everything including the Pennine winter cover is always bone dry underneath it. There have been a few complaints about the Pennine winter covers not lasting long ,Ours is still in very good condition after five years and will hopefully last a few more years.

Not sure if you realise, but this post is nine years old and Bellalola has not been on the forum for seven years.

But here is a link to the product at Highbridge Caravans.
