As the title says...we recently bought a Pennine Fiesta 2+2 and decided to give it a whirl as the weather up here had got a little better! Went to Hopeman on Monday (about an hour away) and proceeded to erect the camper and assemble everything that was in the numerous bags. Turns out we had a full awning, side skirt, underbed tent, groundsheets and a full bedroom annexe plus all roof linings, curtains and pods for everywhere! The chap we bought it from (he had it from new) did say there were other bits but never used them because it was just him and wife. Everything like new even though it's 10 years old. It's also got a Truma heating system which was a boon last night as it poured rain with a howling gale (no leaks, brilliant).
We did have to pack up this morning with everything wet though.

Will it be OK drying it out tomorrow? (inside a heated workshop)?

Another question.....why is there only one side skirt? There is no zip on the n/s to fit another, I just think it would look better with the pair fitted.

Any comments welcome.
Mac.

Sounds fantastic. You got a good package there.   Although I don't have a Pennine I have looked at them on ebay. Thinking about the bedskirts, I wonder if the underbed tent goes on one side & the skirt goes on the other?

would`nt be too sure about drying out in a heated workshop, as you could shrink the canvas rather more than if it were to dry in the [dry] open air, if you can open it under cover from the rain it will dry albiet slowly ,

Homebird - there are no fittings for the pup tent or zips for skirts on the nearside, I thought it strange as other campers have this.
Lissabuff- OK, the workshop will not be by any means hot or even warm. I've read that the canvas shrinks when WET but I've got from 1.00pm tomorrow until Sunday night so slowly does it.

Before 2003 there was only one end zipped. We sent our canvas back to pennine and had a second zip as we thought it looked tidier.

Hi Jan, sounds like a good idea and yes it would look tidier/more balanced.
Can you tell me how much it cost?

BTW, camper is now in the workshop, it was RINGING WET!!!
Hopefully OK by Sunday night

hi.our fiesta came out with one bedskirt I phoned tvs and they said i would have to take the van or send the cabin so that they could fit another zip.well i thought that is too much trouble.so i set to thinking of another way to do it.i took the other sides bedskirt turned it inside out and then zipped it to the awning zip part at the front where i  wanted to fit another bed skirt.then i thought if they put a small zip on the front piece so it would zip towards  the door and the rest of it was piped the same as a caravan awning.i then fitted alluminium awning channel to the underside of the bedboard.i had tvs make it for me but they cant always match the canvas colour so i had them make me another one the same as the original and then i discarded the original and i now have two that match.it did cost me about two hundred pound though.it works well but you have to fit the channel slightly inwards as not to foul the velcro and the elastic that hooks under  the bed section.i did post a picture of what it looks like.look for fiesta bedskirts in the search section.sorry for going on,only trying to help.cheers.Alex

How about stapling a compatible zip to the bedboard (bit like camcroft channeling) then you could buy standard bed skirts and zip it on.

Sorry no I can't Highbridge arranged it prior to purchase as part of the deal. The skirt we paid for and they covered the cost of the zip and courier.

Thanks Jan that's OK.

Alex, the way the main canvas is attached to the bed board kind of stops you putting channel on because of the hooks and velcro as you know, it wouldn't be out to the edge. I think the best option is to get another zip sewn on, not sure if staples would be strong enough up here in the windy Highlands!
I have a local tarpaulin/bouncy castle/boat cover maker here, so I'll get him to give me a price.

Now.....where am I going to get a compatible zip?
