I have a 1994 pennine fiesta and struggle with putting up the awning, at the mo I zip the awning on, put it up over the unit do the poles and pull the awning over.  I am trying to remember if my TT awning has removable panels ( does antone know ?)and would taking them out make it easier to put up ???

Oh yes certainly, put the main awning over first ,then put your panels in afterwards....

When we make up the frame ,we connect it to the main cabin, and lower the front legs down, then throw over the awning ,then push the legs up ,much easier.....

lilly - are you trying to put it up on your own? if you are, you will struggl,e in fact I'm amazed you can do it at all. The only other way is to try zipping it on and then erecting the frame underneath it and that's probably harder than the other two options.

I do it myself with the help of 3 ( usually moaning ! ) children, I'm only 5ft 2 so its alI a bit tricky! do as you said, zip it on first, then poles and pull it over but it is heavy, I have tried looking at pics to see if any panels can be removed, I only got it last year and cant for the life of me remember if they can !

The other thing I was going to ask is about used sun awnings for shorter breaks, any ideas how much I'm looking at, I tried an awning but even with storm straps it still ends up in a heap !

The 4 removable panels didn't come in on the Fiesta's until 1997/8 so yours is one of the older models but I think you can take one side panel out to fit an extension so it might be worth doing that to take some of the weight off.  There is no easier way of putting the awning up apart from telling the kids to stop moaning so much or ask someone for a hand - most people are willing to help. If all else fails ask the site owner.

Much respect from me for doing it by yourself.

i managed to put mine up with my 4 year boy.  mine is a 2005 fiesta.  what i do, is zip on the awning.

make up the front section of poles, ie 3 vertical, and the 2 horizonal.  lift the this set of poles up - and then my 4 year old just held the middle pole (a bit wonky mind you).

then get the 3 cross poles and secure them in turn to the main unit, then clip to front poles.  i use the same technique as issabella recomend with thier caravan awnings and it seems to work for me.

have  alook on thier site, i think there is a video

john
