Hello.  We have a Conway Mirage trailer tent which we are looking to sell as we have now acquired an elderly but comfortable caravan.  Because we always had plenty of space for just the two of us in the tent we never used the under bed tent, so it was pretty embarrassing earlier today when a very nice family came to view it and we had no idea how to fit the under bed tent to the bed platform above it!  There are pole clips attached to the top of the tent, but apparently nowhere to hook them on.  Can anyone help by providing an explanation please?  Many thanks.

Thank you Andrea.  Unfortunately, as I explained in the original post, there is nowhere to clip them to - either on the bedboard or elsewhere.  Regards, roobs

Hi,

On mine (Raclet Quickstop) I have used the smallest size plastic coated cup hooks that I could get away with, I think they were 1/2" hook size.

The hooks nearest to the trailer unit screw into the bed board underside, and are underneath some material that was stapled on to prevent chafing on the frame when folding,  the outer hooks also screw onto the underside of the bed board and are very close to the bed support frame.

None of the hooks are in a place where they could catch the canvas, this was something I put a lot of consideration into before using the hooks, and have proved to be an ideal solution :o)

Tim.

Many thanks Tim and Wongers - I'm sure that at least one of these suggestions will work, although I can't help but feel that the most sensible solution would have been for Conway to put some sort of attachment on the underside of the bedboard themselves at the point of manufacture.  Perhaps there was an important engineering reason why they didn't.  Anyway, I shall crack on and have a go.  Thanks again, roobs.

The main reason is because of the way Conway bedboards fold. Anything protruding can snag the canvas. The clips just go over the edge of the bedboards and are perfectly secure there in use. Simple, lo-tech and effective.
