Hi,
On mine (Raclet Quickstop) I have used the smallest size plastic coated cup hooks that I could get away with, I think they were 1/2" hook size.
The hooks nearest to the trailer unit screw into the bed board underside, and are underneath some material that was stapled on to prevent chafing on the frame when folding, the outer hooks also screw onto the underside of the bed board and are very close to the bed support frame.
None of the hooks are in a place where they could catch the canvas, this was something I put a lot of consideration into before using the hooks, and have proved to be an ideal solution :o)
