Hi.

 I read with interest that someone folded their folding camper up with the awning still zipped to it.

 I have the new Pennine Crusader, and have never thought of doing this. It would be great if it works. Has anyone else done this. I wouldn't want to put too much strain on things by overdoing it. I know Pennine don't recommend it.

Yes, we have put the awning on several times and have zipped it on before putting the poles up, but you have to pull the awning over the roof first then fasten down the sides. The frame can then be attached to the camper and the awning pulled over the frame and pegged down, but don't peg the awning down until the camper is all erected and fastened up because the awning can pull the camper roof out of position making it difficult to velcro down etc.

 We have also put the awning on after the camper is fully erected, but it's so high at the apex that I have to stand on the edge of the camper body to reach it. Also it's harder to fit all the frame together etc when the awning is draped down the side of the camper, I like it on the roof so it's out of the way while building the frame.

 Regarding leaving the awning zipped to the camper I am going to try it at home and see how it folds up. My main concern is straining all the brackets as it folds to a close. I will post a reply when I have tried it.
