Hello all

Could do with having something cleard up.Just got  a trailertent and its 640kgunbreaked.Now the thing is me car manuale says i can only tow max unbraked wight of 660kg.So will i be ok to tow or will i need to get a bigger car.Thank for your help in advance.

Just so new to all this Iam happy in a tent. lol

P.S. And if it could be dune how much would it cost to have said trailer tent braked

your fine to tow aslong as the 640kg is it's max weight ie fully loaded with all your stuff.

Thanks crisis over t/t wights 460kg so even with me and the wife and the stuff in the car it should only come to what580kg so all good thanks for your help.Or am i still wrong lol

Just a quick check, what's the kerbside weight of the car? For an unbraked trailer the actual laden weight of the trailer mustn't exceed 50% of the kerbside weight of the car.

I suspect you'll be fine providing the car isn't *very* small!

not wrong but a bit confused i think what you put in the car won't matter only what you put in trailer so if your car can tow 660kg unbraked and your trailer is 460kg your fine.

Thanks all I think i get it now lol its what iam pullin now whats in the  car.As i say tt is 460.With whats in it bet it dont wight 480 kg,So goin to be fine.But think i will chang car next year,Only got a 1.6 Renault scenic now.

Look in the yellow pages etc find a local council that has a weight bridge they will weight it & your car & give you a certificate.

Kerbside weight is according to the usual source 1250kg so you're OK up to 625kg actual weight - you'd have to cram a lot into a 460kg TT to get up to that!

It should tow without too many problems.
