just wanted to say hi....our familys just got our first trailer tent (raclet) and fell upon this site...so here i am.
looking forward to next year when we can put it up. if anyone has recommendations of sites that are clean, with clean toilet blocks (maybe even a baby washing room ) please tell me, especially cornwall/devon way for our main summer holiday.
hope to pick your brains in the next few months..cheers matt
Hi matt and welcome to feast of information and entertainment. There are lots of people on here who can answer just about any question you care to come up with. Some one will be along soom with details of sites, but in the meantime click on Campsite search at the top of the page enter Devon and click search, there will be lots of sites to choose from and you can eben read reviews frommembers who have been there.
Tregoad near Looe is a clean site with good facilities. It has two bathrooms (with bath) which is good for cleaning the little ones. Must warn you though, if you do go get a pitch away from the bar area. Try as hard as the owners do they still have trouble keeping the noise down some nights.
If you use the search facility you can get lots of additional info (like help erecting the TT).
Take a big plastic toybox and bath the baby in that. My kids LOVED sitting outside the TT in their own private swimming pool. You only need a pan of boiling water plus cold to give you enough depth. Then you get to sit next to them and watch the sun go down while they play. (As long as they can sit up of course! )
I use Pentewan sands camp site near StAustel most years, a lovely safe clean site with its own private beech. Does tend to get busy at peak times and is at the top end of the price scale. Baby bath needs to be booked on a daily basis in advance. Pitches are fairly large and flat.
Welcome to the site Matt. Hope your travels are happy ones next year.
I would recommend that you join the Camping & Caravan Club, as I have yet to go on any of their sites which is not clean and well run. They usually well landscaped aswell.
Plus you get a mag every month to keep you going over winter. All round good value as the sites are reasonably priced for members.
Welcome to UKCS - you'll find people on here to be very helpful and friendly.
Am relatively new to T/T camping myself (bought a T/T last winter ready for this season). I'm from S/Yorks so only ventured into N/Yorks this season to get used to towing & errecting the T/T - therefore cannot give advice on sites in the South West but agree with advice given to you by others to use the campsite search facility on this site. I've found this very useful.
