I got to post a boast ! Ive just come back from 3 nights away in Dartmoor on my own. Ive a Conway Miami Trailer tent, and have put the trailer part up on my own before, but have always had help with the awning, and I find the kitchen a devil to move alone. This time I was totally solo, and gave the whole awning thing some thought, and came up with GAFFA tape !! FIRST get the 3 roof poles with the little hook that go into the main frame and GAFFA them in situ  - then - using small pieces of GAFFA - reinforce all the "breaks" and "joins" in the gable front of the awning and attatch it to the 3 roof strut extending poles that youve hooked and gaffa'd into the main frame-- leaving the front legs at half mast -- pull the awining canvas over the front of the frame and up to meet the zips together -- zip in place from the inside, and then raise the 3 front leg up to full extension. DONE !! You can then extend the long roof poles and neaten it all up. Just a tip -- dont press the tape down too hard, you will want to get it off when you take the awning down.

The kitchen part I solved by getting the kitchen into situ first using 1st the car, then moving the trailer maually, and unhooked it from the trailer, then moved the trailer into position -- I dont know if this is how most people do it, but Ive always put the trailer in situ, then manhandled the kitchen into place.

The campsite was The Old rectory -Gullworthy outside tavistock. Lovely pitches, very private - some traffic noise only minor complaint.

I would second the wheels on the kitchen - I haven't attempted the awning on my own, but at least I can get the kitchen on and off on my own now
