The gel coat on a fibreglass body can be restored using a rubbing compound - such as the stuff you use when you do a gel coat repair. I use International Liquid Rubbing which is basically a slightly abhrasive rubbing solution used to get the final gloss shine on a repair. You then need to put a protective layer over that or else the gel coat will fade - eg International Premium Polish.
I get mine from a boat chandlers http://www.1stmark.co.uk/ but any chandlers will do.
Sorry - can't help with an awning cleaner as I've always worked on the principle that it's best not to clean beyond dry brushing any mud off the awning.
