Hello all,

I have recently had a mishap with the zip on my pathfinder door. Basically i could not get the zip disengaged so i could take off the large side panel, so being the calm reasoned person i am i resorted to the swearing pulling tugging and shouting method. This did work and the zip came off but so did some of the stitching at the end of the main canvas zip.

Does anyone know if it easy to stitch it back again, what thread and needle do i use? I really do not fancy having to remove the whole canvas to take to somewhere for a few inches of stitching.

I've used sailmaking needles and whipping twine - the thin stuff works better. I have the sailmaker's palm pad (it helps push the needle through).

You can use strong thread from a haberdashers but it tends to rot very quickly.

I didn't even think of the thread rotting. Had a look at the link and that may be the way i have to go. Could not see the needles though, only a four pack of Javelins
