Probaly expensive to retro fit, better ideas is a 2k thermostaticly controlled fan heater.

I put gas blown air heating in my Pathfinder as I camp without EHU quite a bit. Doing it myself it was around £500, most caravan dealers should be able to help.

I'm glad I fitted it and it will certainly be used this weekend!

We have discussed the Propex or Truma warm air heaters many times on the COC in the past, and I was contemplating installing the Truma E2400 unit, which got good reviews from a member last year. However, I had second thoughts as I saw that the 2 kW Propex unit would use a complete 907 Campingaz cylinder in 19 hours. At about £20 per re-fill this becomes very expensive when you add the £500 cost of the unit. The Truma, on full power, uses 200 g of gas per hour or 13.6 hours use from a 907. Think I will stick with my halogen heater. Are my calculations correct for gas consumption?

The Truma does have the advantage of 2 heat settings, and I find I don't tend to use it for very long periods (although it may be left on with the 'stat low overnight occasionally). The calcs above seem about right for continuous running.

If I was still using Camping Gaz I think I'd change to Calor!

I've got a small fan heater which I keep in the camper for when I've got hook-up though, so the Truma is only used off-grid.

Yes point taken Glen, and I do admit the comfort of a nice cosey camper still gets my support and the E2400 unit is said to be fantastic. Much quieter fan compared with the Propex unit. My gas calculation would assume you want your camper like a sauna!!!!
Yes, changing from CampingGaz to Calor is my next exercise. I know Gaz is more readily available on the Continent but it is much more expensive.

Sounds about right, space heating uses a lot of energy.

(There's a reason why caravanners do not use Camping Gaz - it's far too expensive.)
