It takes patience!!!!     First of all, make sure that the gas is coming through - I usually turn the cooker on for a few seconds.  Then, just keep trying. I haven't read the advice already given to you but I can honestly say it has taken me about 15 minutes to get the gas lit on my fridge. I found that shining a torch onto the peephole helps. When you press the button do you hear a click? I take the shelves out so that I can get my head right in. This is presuming that its the same as my Countryman of course,

I think I may have said this before but you have to ensure all the electric buttons for the fridge (the mains and 12v) are both set to "off".  It will not light if either is on.

Also remove all shelving from fridge and put head right inside to look for the flame.  Shut the door around your head (!) to block out the light.

You also have to have the knob (on the right hand side) twisted around to the ignite setting and hold it in while you click the ignition button.

You should click the ignition button 3 or 4 times in quick succession to hopefully get sparks from it.  Once you see a flame you need to hold the knob in on the right hand side for around 20-30 seconds to ensure it stays alight.

Good luck.

When I tried to use my fridge on gas I could not get it to work either after several tries so I posted a "help request" on the folding caravan club website. Tich asked me if I had switched the gas on???  Turns out I had a gas pipe with a tap for the fridge under one of my bedboxes which I didn't even know was for the fridge.  I just assumed it was to do with the cooker rather than the fridge. Admittedly I gave up trying to get it to light on that occasion. I will try again another time. Could you have the same thing and had the same assumption?

Regards

When I had this problem I tried everything without success then pulled the fridge out of the cabinet and found that the wire to the back of the igniter had vibrated off. If you're getting absolutely no spark at all, this could be a possible cause

Hi,,, My fiesta is a1997 model and I had trouble with the fridge........................

It turns out the electric switch which is in the cupboard next to the fridge on the left hand side was not switched on.... I did get the gas to start... but due to an argument with my better half I turned it off never to start again...

The battery has never got it to spark, so I only run it on the electric now....I found the switches very confusing... I wish you the very best and I am sure you will have great holidays..
