Hello Peeps!
Just thought I would say hi to everyone in this forum, just bought myself a TT (Cabanon Galaxy DL) so I guess I should start reading this forum regularly from now on. The wife has finally called it a day on sleeping on the floor, so it looks like the tents are ebay-bound, a sad time if I'm honest, I will miss them dearly, but I am looking forward to a little more comfort in the TT.
So, if you have any hints, tips, do's, don'ts, etc. for my new adventures, please fire away, I'm an experienced camper, but this TT business is new to me, & I'm not too proud to listen to advice.
Cheers,
Spiny.

welcome to the board, I was sad to leave my tent and didn't sell it at first but after our first trip sleeping off the floor i was converted and off it went to ebay!

Main difference between tent and TT is you need a flatfish pitch, and the space you have created in the boot from no tent, air beds etc, expect it to soon be filled with other essentials you find you can no longer do without!

Thanks suzan,
Hehe, the car boot is already a distant memory, I've been lugging a trailer with greedy boards around for the past 4 years, and to be honest I think I will struggle to get all my accumulated comforts in the TT & boot, so maybe it's as well I kept my roofbox after all.
I think you're right about the tents though, what I need is a weekend away in the TT to convince me to sell the Tents, well, the Amazon at least .... I might just keep the Icarus for any 1 night stopovers

Spiny.

Hi Ian,
Wheels on the kitchen? I dare not, the wife would probably think I was having a dig at her ........... Meals on Wheels, it's just not worth the risk

Welcome Spiney. I have just had a look in your Gallery and see that you are not backward at coming forward.

I too have just joined the ranks of the tinned bottomed/canvas topped brigade.

It has been a few years now since I have slept under canvas and I had forgotten what a wonderful and peaceful sleep I used to get being lulled to unconsciousness by the gentle flapping of the breeze on canvas.

welcome to the tt side of camping. one thing you will probably notice is the little amount of time it takes to set one up for a start!
tt's are designed to be as comfortable as possible with minimal fuss and once they are set up, they are great inside.

Thanks all for the welcome.
I know it's gonna kill me having to wait till easter next year for an outing, but she's all packed up for winter now, trailer in parents garage & canvases under stairs, so the temptation is kinda subsiding now she's in hibernation. All I gotta do now is think of a name for her ............ I'm thinking something French sounding, suggestions welcome !!!!!
