Last week we decided to sell our 98 pennine folding camper , its been lovingly looked after is in very good condition had one repair in the cabin 5 yrs ago and is as dry as dry can be , we saw an add from someone asking for a penninne aged 95 to 2000 so got in touch ,the Female rang and asked me about it i was honest and assured her that it was dry and had 240 V electrics .
The next day her husband phoned and asked for pics , fair enough so we sent some , he phoned back and said it looks in very good nick i replied that it indeed was , they asked us to withold the advert we were going to put up as they were keen , we discussed a price and we very fairly knocked £250 of the asking price and threw in extras such as brand new toilet tent , elecric blow heater ect , the guy over the week asked more Questions than Scotland yard , ie is it dry answer yes , has it been garaged answer yes up until this spring , is there storage sppace under the seats answer yes , does it have the handle to let the legs down answer yes , does the fridge work answer yes , does the zip work answer yes , do you have key to boot ( no we kick it till it opens ) answer yes , is the spare ok answer yes though on checking it had a leaky vavle so we took it to a tyre placed and had it fixed have you smoked in it answer no , have you had pets in it answer no along with a host of other Questions all answered honestly .
So after all that is cleared up and us not putting an advert up they arrange to come over but ask us not to put the camper up till they get here we agreed , they arrived we show them camper , my hubby drops legs then we uncover it and drop the sides down , now this is when the tape measure appears from the woman she measures one of the beds from the outside and says its only four foot wide , it isnt its six from the inside but hey ho , she then decides the sides are to heavey to drop and in under ten mins they are gone leaving us flabberghasted .
Why oh why dont people do their homework on the camper they intend to view before they view ? they have wasted a full week of our time in hindsight we should have gone ahead with the advert but thought it would be polite not to i just hope these people dont do the same to others , the woman said she had a bad back and couldnt manage to pull down the sides i wished she had said that on the phone to save all the bother .

Been there!
I had a Pennine Sterling and a couple turned up and said
a it was the wrong colour even though Id sent some pics!
b, it was the wrong year, even though it was stamped on the drawbar.
c. it was too heavy for their car to tow
and finally d. it was wider than was stated on the ad even though I gave the manufacturers specs!!!
What is wrong with these people???
