Were did you all buy your trailer tent from? I've saw tent stores but never came across a trailer tent store. We was going to get a caravan but before we make that step I'd like to check out a few trailer tents as I've never been inside one.
I live in Nottinghamshire so do you know were I could visit?

We got ours from Camperlands in Manchester, but as we lived so far away from it did our research on line then took a chance we would like it after we'd bought it!

Caseys Outdoor Leisure - Raclet & Cabanon + Pennine/Conway folding campers - here

Camperlands - Trigano, Cabanon, Camplet. - they tend to focus on Camplet.

Don Valley Outdoors at Doncaster - Cabanon trailer tents + Pennine / Conway folding campers.

Combi-camp and Comanche - there is no where locally I know of.

If you are interested in caravans you may want to check out folding campers too as they are partly like a caravan inside and can even come with toilets, hot running water and built in heating, cookers etc but also have canvas (or similar) fold down like a trailer so easy to tow/store and actually give quite a lot of standing space when compared to smaller caracans, with no need to turn sofas into beds each night.

Bought my Conway Cardinal off ebay, and as andcow says, it is very much like a caravan when set up, full kitchen (includingb fridge and over) hot and cold running water, heating, dining area and two double beds permanently set up. Do a search on ebay for folding campers and trailer tents and get some idea of what they are all about.

Folding campers/trailer tents can be set up quickly (15mins) depending on type. They are easier to store, tow and cost less to tow as they are lower and cause less drag.

Thanks guys I'll go take a look at their websites. I do like the look of a folding camper but I'm not sure if funds will stretch to one. I'll only have around £2000 by the time I've saved. Gonna look into buying just after Xmas I think. Unless something comes up that's not to be missed. Got to buy all new stuff to take too as we sold everything along with our tent. Had a break from camping for the past year and used a cottage but it's so expensive just for a week we could have 2 or 3 breaks with what it's cost. Was nice to use the loo without having to wrap up though lol

NOt sure you would get a FC with toilet for that money but you may manage one of the smaller older ones if you get a bargain.        At least with the FC, unlike many tt, you will get most of the equipment you need.  We went from basic tenting to FC and did not need to use anything out of the tent or buy much for the camper.

A few cooking tools (frying pan, tin opener etc) so that we did not have to keep packing from home, a cheap fan heater from Argos and new bedding so that again we could leave packed up in the camper through the summer season though we could have done without and just taken the home stuff of course.

Cooker, beds, indoor seats, table that can go indoors/outdoors, sink etc all there with the FC.

Things like EHU, waste/water units etc normally come with second hand FCs though  check first of course.

I think the main reason for wanting to switch from a tent was to save all the packing up the car and advanced planning everytime we fancied a weekend away.   Several times I had finished work early on a Friday, come home, got stuff out the loft, packed all up onlyfor the trip to be called off as the weather got worse and worse.

With the FC we just have to pack up the food and clothes, hook on the camper and off we go plus it is easier to cope in bad, wet weather if we still go too and putting it up is quicker than a tent (unless a one man pop up of course).  Main unit is about 15 mins from start to finish now and we can do without the awning if not camping for long, or with others.   Awning is longer but that is partly becasue we are still getting used to it.

I would save up for longer and wait until spring for a FC if you can.
