To be honest, unless you really like hard beds then you will need extra padding on top of the standard foam Solena bed anyway.
We used to have a single Duvet on top of the mattress with an elasticated double mattress protector cover over the lot all the time. This added about 50mm to the depth.
I think a good thick self inflating camping mat would be a better idea for sleeping on the floor. It could be rolled up & stored under the bed.
I fitted two twin electric sockets with an electric hook up into our Solena, which cut down on loads of trailing cables everywhere.
