Does neone have a good used folding caravan that they are getting rid off????? if so i have an almost new (used for two nights) outwell ohio xl with carpet and footprint to swap :) let me know what you have?
Hahaha. No, mine was a bargain, so I'm keeping it.
Stuart, just so you know, a bargain is a thing you get without having to hand over thousands of those funny bits of paper with the queen's head on them.
Oh well, mustn't carp. After all, the Astro goes up a whole 30 seconds faster than my Globetrotter, and has nearly a quarter of the floor space. Defo worth 6 times the price, then...

A Ford Transit has space and probably costs less than comfortable car.
Fully erected the Astro has a footprint of 6.8m x 6.3m
and an overnight/stopover configuration of 1.7m x 4.2.
Of course you would need more space in the Globetrotter cabin in order to heave in your cooker etc and then to lay down to relieve the consequent hernia.
Anyway it is good to see you back on here. And we both know you have asked Santa for a Holtkamper..so be a good boy.
It's like a Pennine in that the cooker is inside and doesn't need heaving. It also has legs which means that it can stand outside in the awning if required. Just like the Holtkamper, it has wheels, meaning that you don't need to heave, and it weighs under 20kgs, making it 1/2 the mass of the traditional trailer tent kitchens.
Oh, and my footprint? 8.5m by 7.5m. If it was a permanent dwelling, it would be in council tax band B.
Don't get me wrong, if you offered me a Holtkamper I would definitely have it, it's great design, and might be worth as much as 8 or even 9 grand (i.e. twice the price of a Globetrotter)
...I wonder why you're the only Holtkamper owner in the UK?...
I think you will find that folding caravans or campers are worth quite a lot more than tents even when quite old so people may be reluctant to swap. In addition once you have bought into the FC or Folding caravan life style you may never want to go back!!!

Ermmm NO!
Seriously though I know of 2 that were given away one was on Freegle & they are a member of our little group, another one was recently given away near Bristol with awning & everything on Gumtree! What's the betting that'll end up on eBay soon then?
