Hello,

Does anyone know where I can buy or get my hands on the Raclet front storage box to attach to the trailer for a Raclet Solena?

I gather that Raclet make two sizes - does anyone know if the large size (any idea what capacity it is?) will fit on the Solena trailer?  If yes, and it's available anywhere in the UK, anyone know what they generally sell for?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Marcus

Here's the one the previous owner made from treated marine ply which is bolted to the trailers A frame chassis,as you can see its a lot larger than the raclet ones but is ideal for keeping the toilet in and other large light equipment thus avoiding overloading the nose weight...

Hi

we have just bought a Solena front storage box from casey's outdoor leisure (based in chester but have an online shop). We paid £190, ( can't guarantee the price as we bought it at the same time as the trailer so it maybe a special deal), it's the smaller of the two sizes. I wanted the larger size but the dealer advised us to have the smaller size with the solena. Haven't picked it up yet so can't comment further!!

There are some here that might suit.

We have the Cabanon extra large front storage box on ours and it is huge. I adapted it so it no can be taken off and put back on in 5 mins. We take it off when on site so it doesn`t interfere with the fall and pegging of the canvas.

I'd be interested in how you made it a "quick realease" Griff, ours is just held on with straps at the moment.

You should have bolt holes already in the "A" frame. I put an M8 bolt, (length50mm), though each of the holes from underneath and used M8 nylon lock nuts. You then end up with 4 threaded studs pointing upwards, (if that makes sense).

I then bolted a piece of external marine ply, (large enough to cover where it will sit on the "A" frame), to the under side of the box.

Placed the box on top of the 4 threaded studs and marked the ply accordingly. Drilled 4 holes straight through the ply to inside the box. I used the ply because it makes the box far more stable when on the "A" frame.

It is then just a case of lifting the box on so all 4 threaded studs are poking through to the inside of the box and then secure it with 4 M8 normal nuts with split washers.

All I do once on site is undo the 4 nuts inside the box and lift it off. I then use at the side of the TT as storage place.

Basically I believe I have just reversed the way the box is normally installed.

Hope it make sense.

Griff

Hi jacksomd

I can get these for you, the larger front box is 300L and is £300.

It is in black with a grey plastic lid embossed with a "R".

I'll get a photo up tomorrow if you like.

I've got one for sale (£50).  I think it's the larger one and comes complete with key.  It came off a Raclet Jade.  I can take a photo tomorrow and email to you if you are interested.
