One other idea Mark is there room on the chassis to drill and fit a different type as you could replace with a slightly different one if the chassis lends itself.

Also have you tried contacting a local caravan service company/mobile mechanic who should have access to replacement steadies? Even if they cannot supply the same one they may be able to repair it for you using a different type.

Not sure what else to suggest.
