We're used to lighting our Bear Lake with a lovely Outwell Merope, lit the tent up really well... I don't believe we'll be able to use this light in the Stratos, as I don't believe there is anywhere to hang the light - the poles are zipped away...

So, presuming I can't hang the light anywhere, can anybody suggest other lighting methods that you use? (Thinking a couple of uplighters would look good)...

Also, in the bedrooms, we're planning on using battery operated UFO led lights... Any better suggestions than this? (Thinking a lantern on top of the draw unit)...

WE use a 2 foot fluro, with tiewraps and crocodile clips onto the bit of canvas. Works a treat.

We used a set of these in the Neptune and looped them to the window ties and the zip in the door to the cabin so they lit the awning and the cabin.

Can't quite remember where I got mine but they were only £22 a couple of years ago (seem to recall some camping store near Malvern....?).

Only had a test/inspection pitch when we collected "her"... Wasn't pegged out or anything... Booked four nights for Royal Wedding weekend, we'll probably have to have a practise pitch somewhere before we go... But didn't look that hard, sure it won't be a problem, might just take longer than the advertised 30 minutes :-)

Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

Don't ask me how (as hubby and dad did it) but we had an small electric strip light attached to the side of the locker in the bedroom area which we used. They also installed a double electric socket on the opposite locker from which we ran a 3 gang socket extension into the awning. This powered the fridge, Tv and a table lamp.

We loved the Stratos, and even had her permanently pitched May-Sept down in Devon. She held up amazingly well in very strong winds- we were sorry to sell her- but the appeal of the tin tent was too much for us

Showed the OH the suggestions so far... She wants to keep the Merope... God knows how I'm going to hang it, it's quite heavy... Maybe of the cabin frame somehow... grrrrrrrrr Was sure she'd like the globes...

I use a 'clamp on' bulb holder from the local bargain store. I think I've seen them in asda too. it clamps nicely onto the pole. I tie a loop of parachute cord onto the two awning zips to hold the cable. Inside, I have a table lamp and a magnetic inspection lamp from machine mart, ready for the "5am bladder call". Energy Saver / LED bulbs all round.
Used to have a fluoro tube.... til I killed it :0(

We use one of these in our awning, worke great and clamps on almost anywhere. Put 60w bulb in it and gives loads of light.
