I guess the world's your oyster, well maybe Europe . Just pick somewhere you'd like to visit, book it and away you go.
We've not long bought our camper and we're going away somewhere not to far away at first as we haven't camped for many years and didn't want to be caught short.
After that, though, we've booked three more hols around the country. Each campsite we've phoned have classed us as a trailer tent and a few didn't quite understand what the difference between a trailer tent and a folding camper was.
You will generally find that site class them as trailer tents or FC, if you want a site that is caravan only, you could offer it as a convertible caravan lol thats what Pennine are naming them this year.
But as stated previously, most site recognise Folding campers in my experience. Only real way to make certain they will take your FC is to ring them up and ask.
Tell them it is a folding camper. If you get any snotty sites that don't like fabric, point out that you don't need pegs. If they don't like caravans, you are a trailer tent! We've never been turned away anywhere.
Wherever you go for your first trip, make sure it's not too far away so you can make sure it's all there and that you can put it all up, including the awning. Our awning took ages to put up first time as it seemed to us that all the poles looked the same. We've got it sorted now, I think.
I have been in touch with the Caravan Club about this very matter and they have confirmed that they treat Folding Campers/Trailer Tents as Caravans on their sites.
Enjoy 2011
