We picked our Odyssee up on friday and are having the trial run. Does anybody know how many support poles there should be along the front? We think the centre roof pole had been used wrongly by the previous owners and had a feet and hook on either end. Either that or we are missing the centre pole. SHould there be a support pole at the front in the middle? If so how? But if not how does the veranda pole work?? V Confused. Any help appreciated?

Hi,ther,s 3 support poles at the front and 1 pole that fits across the window.I agree with lloyd67,the instructions are rubbish but once you,ve put it up a couple of times you,ll be fine.We can,t wait for our 8 night trip to devon next week.Im sure you,ll be as pleased as we our of ours.

Right thanks- that makes much more sense-  we are missing the centre roof pole in that case. So should that be black? We have now worked out with the 3 poles across the front how the window pole works. Bit annoyed to be missing the main roof pole though. I'll ring tomorrow and see what the dealer says. Thanks again, Marie.

Thanks. You don't know what year they introduced slatted beds is do you? The one we bought was advertised as 2009 but only has one slatted bed and from the 2009 brochure it should have two so I think it may be a year old than we were led to believe. Wouldn't have expected this from a trailer tent bought from a dealer and I wish we had spent longer checking it over. I'm waiting for them to call me back today.

Hi, no we didn't pay full price as it was second hand and we part exed our Oceane. Apparently a couple bought it new from them in 2009 and then didn't like camping so part exchanged it for a caravan from them. I have spoken with the dealer who thought the Odyssee was only manufactured from 2009 and tells me the brochure was wrong about the bed but i don't think he really has a clue. To be fair he offered a refund and our oceane back or for us to keep it and he'll send the missing pole to us. I don't really want to say where it came from unless it isn't resolved amicably!

If you let me have the serial number of the Odyssee I'll look up the date of manufacture for you.

Marie,

My husband has just confirmed ours has only one side slatted which is the one that rests on the trailor, the side that you pull over is a black corrogated sort of board  which would make sence as this is what you screw the underbed to.

 Hope this helps.

Yvonne

Thanks Yvonne and thanks Rob for the offer. I have just looked at the 2010 brochure which states "for the first time 2 slatted beds is an option" which means the 2009 model must have had only one so I suspect I may have made a bit of a fuss about nothing although the 2009 brochure is very misleading.  So as long as the missing pole arrives this week as promised I am happy as it looks a great trailer tent and I wouldn't want to return it now anyway.

Now I am thinking about the sun canopy. Do you have that and if so is it good? Awning and accessories.co.uk have offered it delivered for £225 which is a bit cheaper than elsewhere.

Hi Marie,we do have the sun canopy and yes i would recomend getting this, although it doesn,t look like the one in the Trigano brochure. It,s more like the one they show with the olympe.we now put our kitchen outside with a cover on at night.Think we paid about £250 from Black Country Caravans, try camperlands to.

Yvonne, That looks very like the suncanopy we have with our Jametic. Its a big piece of canvas, which zips on and has side wings, and 3 upright poles at the front. Its secured with guys.

I've been a little bit wary of using it in case the wind gets up! How sturdy do you find it? What sort of cover do you use on the kitchen?

All the best,
Alison

Hi Alison,

We do find it to be quite sturdy,it comes with really good storm straps. We just use a waterproof garden bench cover over our kitchen at night time, also the canopy has sides so that helps to protect the kitchen. We find we have more room inside our tent now.

                        Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne,

Ours didn't come with storm straps, but I could get some, it does have sides. I might try keeping it outside, it would make sense if the canopy is sturdy enough to provide a sheltered cooking area.

Thank you.

Hi Yvonne, do you have any photos of yours with the sun canopy?

Our roof pole arrived today- quite impressed now with the dealer as I only phoned him yesterday so all is forgiven! We've had it up on the drive again today and are still very please with it but just a few questions if you don't mind.

Do you have an underbed tent and if so how does it fasten on. Our old trailer tent had popper like attachments on it but this one doesn't.

Also the poles that goes between the beds are black and the T bar type things for the roof pole and wardrobe are scratching the black paint off. Does yours do that? Only cosmetic so not a massive problem but not sure if we are doing something wrong.

Thanks again, it's really helpful getting advice from someone that has the same TT!

Marie.
