Hi.All.

Due to recent operations I could not drive so we had to revert back to our tent.We stayed on a site that we liked and bye the way still do.The first week we were there we were  the only tent a bit like the cowboys being surrounded by the indians.Well I was quite shocked by the looks we got from caravans,motorhomes. even a Pathfinder folding camper as good as to say ah poor tenters.My normal feeling on campsites regardless of what unit you have is friendliness people speak and greet you this was not the case.I am sure that some of these people think that they are better than you are.The annoying part is that some of units can be bought for a couple of hundred pound because they are so old yet they seem to think that they are a cut above you.Well I can only put some of this treatment down to snobbery  and personally couldn`t be bothered with people like that.Cheers.Alex

I have had both a tent and a caravan and have never felt I was being treated or looked upon differently by other campers on site.

Off site however, when talking to locals and they ask where I am staying, I have on occasions felt as if their opinion of me wanes slightly when they realise I am in a tent and not a posh caravan or a local B&B.

Terrible how folks are, we once refussed to stay on a sight in Mablethorpe because the owners though we were in camper and were very rude to us when we turned up with a folding camper. They kept coming over to talk to us and insult us even further by saying that next year they weren`t accepting booking from tents or families. I was so upset and oh had to drive over 100 miles home because everywhere else was fully booked.Again like you we were parked next to old caravans that were worth a lot less than our unit but who cares about money, everyones still have the same holiday.

We will be out in the Countryman on Thursday.We really like our Countryman we will use it as much as we can now.Anyway watch out tents,old caravans.old motorhomes.it`s our turn to look down our noses this time Cheers.Alex
