We're desperately trying to find a Pennine Pathfinder on the South Coast at a reasonable price. Have seen one advertised that has lost its gas door. The seller says this is purely cosmetic but we think it will cause a lot of drag when towing but wondered how much it would cost to replace the gas door. Suppose questions are can this repair be done? Can it be done in the South of England? Otherwise is anyone out there willing to sell their Pennine Pathfinder at an ok price that is not £1000 more than it would have cost in March???

Hi If by gas door you mean the locker at the front of the camper, it is not cosmetic. Imagine the damage that would occur after water ingress and the door is not easily replaced. there is a thread else where on here by some one else trying to replace the door and if my memory serves me even pennine could not replace the older model doors.

I have just removed the front locker door to give me access to the front locker to do some modifications.

It is easily taken out and replaced and I was lucky in that I have found some fittings that will actually improve the hinges of the original FC.

However I have not at anytime come across anyone selling just a front locker door. You can buy a complete front section for the Pathfinder and I take it that that would include a new door.

The wooden floor of the front (gas) locker is a continuation of the main unit floor and any dampness in there will lead to problems within the main unit itself.

If I was buyig a FC that had a missing front locker door, I would need to be convinced that it had only just gone missing and that the FC had not been in an accident that had caused that door to be damaged.

Peninne sell replaceements so maybe you want to look at the costs there and factor that in to what you will pay.  Are you on about the full front locker or do you mean the flap on the area that the gas plugs into outside (if that model has that)  We have lost the outside plug flap and yes that is cosmetic though we will get hold of another flap at some point.   Front locker is not cosmetic and you cant take it on the roads without it!

You can't buy the front gas locker doors any more for older models. There is a company in the North West of England (Preston) that will make you one. I checked last year and they wanted £155

Thanks for the responses so far. It has raised quite a lot of doubts in my mind about this sale and I think I've got to ask the seller a lot of questions. Also thinking that if its not too expensive/time consuming job why is the seller not doing it himself rather than discounting the price. Also as many PP owners really take care of their FCs that this person has continued to use it without the gas locker door? johnnyfuggles do you have the name of the company in Preston that do replacement doors?

Hi, I can't think of the name off top of my head but it was a caravan panel company. They said they didn't need my old one as they had the molds from Pennine. The price also included new locks and keys etc. The lady atPennine themselves gave me the number for them so if you ring Pennine they will probably have the details
