Afternoon All,

I was just wondering if anyone has used a Maxxraxx bike carrier when towing and if there were any drawbacks. We've a 2004 Pullman and am hope to put 4 bikes on it as well as tow. The only drawsback i can see are the increase in weight and turning circle maybe.

Any feedback welcome on it or any other way way to carry 4 bikes(apart from on the roof as rails for my particular car cost a fortune, so a cheap way to carry 4 bikes lol)

I carry two bikes and our Cabanon. This is OK, but 4 bikes wouldn't provide turning circle clearance. The Maxxraxx site has diagrams showing the clearances. You also need to consider each bike will be 15kg, thats 60kg nose weight on your towbar, before the Pullman. You need to check towbar and car load capacity.

I am lucky our Landrover can have 150kg weight, but that is high compared with many cars.

I've got a Maxxraxx, got a Camplet this year too.  I ordered a height extension and not tried it yet but think with it, if I take the front wheels off the bikes (have to use an artificial crossbar and the front wheel drops lower than the back) they should clear the front box.  I only plan to put 2 bikes on because of the weight.

Has anyone got one yet? Don't think I'd risk 4 bikes on the back but 2 seems like it should be ok.

We had one with the height extension kit - used 2 BIKES  on the MaxxRaxx and other 2 on bike carriers on top of the TT  - no problems. Excellent piece of kit and great after sales service.
