I'm just trying to get my head around the weight issues. We've a pullman so the overall towing weight should be ok and the nose weight for our car is 75KG. (toyota avensis 2010 estate)

The issue is with bikes, if we get a bike rack connected to the towbar then i assume this weight is include in the cars nose weight calculation. ??maybe??  But what if i get a rack then attaches to the rear of the car boot, what weight should i be looking at this being added to, bearing in mind im looking to take 2 adult and 2 kids bikes which approx are 60-70kg in total.

I thought i had this figured out until i read people trying to reduce the nose weight loading up the boot of the car, but i thought the nose weight was all about the weight at the rear end of the car and not just on the towball. now im just confused.

The only part i do get is the proper loading of the FC (over the axel etc) and not going over the nose weight (i.e not loading everything at the front) but the bike thing has just confused me

hope this sort of makes sense and ive now not confused you guys

Cheers

if you carry the bikes on a rack attached to rear of car and not on the towbar you then have to look at the rear axel weight,
