hi

We have just brought a pennine pullman and have 2 yr old twins, cant wait to go away hopefully next week but im trying to sort out getting a bit of heating for the camper for the kids and me!!

 

Any help please im thinking halogen or a blow heater im quite nesh

Halogen's fine if you have a hook-up, but can be very bright at night. A decent fan heater is another option, and the route we went down when our kids were small.

I also took hot water bottles to pop into their sleeping bags for a bit, then topped them up for mine.

Decent sleeping bags, and a warm drink before bed should help too

Oh...forgot to add, we have fleece under blankets as well like these . Helps to keep things snuggly

HI we have the smallest fan heater in the world which heats brilliantly! We have a 2 yr old and I find instead of a fleece blanket one of those all in one fleece walk in sleepsuits are great all year round and she is always toasty, my 5 yr old also has one for camping, wish they did mummy sizes!!

They do Paula! I know Primark were selling them, but you can find them all over the place.

Re Heater: we have used:

Fan heater - great but find it noisy at night
Oil filled radiator - keeps the chill off but apart from the mini ones they do add a lot of weight
Convector heater - quiet, plenty of heat
Halogen - heat is directional we found, ok if you are sitting in front of it

Hi, we use a halogen heater, but agree can be a bit bright during the night, we're heading off again for the whitsun bank holiday (if I can replace my center pole!!) and might try a fan heater with a thermostat fitted to it.

I have made my own sleepsuits. I am no seamstress, but i took apart one of my daughter's old ones and used it to make patterns. I would say they took me about 3 hours each to make, from cutting to finished and cost about £20 for the two. DD wanted 'funfur' and i thought it would be uncomfortable, so i made a cotton jersey liner, which was the hardest bit - it doesnt want to run smoothly through the machine - mine is fleece from aberkhan who have an online shop. They are SO warm, i made them both double skin. The next ones I make will have hoods and possibly even mittens! In the winter we still use an oil filled radiator in the camper, but in the summer we are plenty warm enough all night. We usually change into them as soon as we go 'inside' at the end of the evening so that we are already warm inside them before we go to bed.
